Mesolithic and Neolithic Era

The Mesolithic and Neolithic Era were two important periods in human history. The Mesolithic Era, also known as the Stone Age, lasted from around 10,000 BCE to 8,000 BCE. During this time, humans developed new tools and technologies, such as the bow and arrow and the domestication of animals. The Neolithic Era, also known as the New Stone Age, followed the Mesolithic Eraand lasted from around 5,000 BCE to 2,500 BCE. During this time, humans began to settle in one place and develop agriculture, leading to the rise of civilizations.

The Mesolithic Era provided a bridge between the Paleolithic (Old Stone Age) and Neolithic (New Stone Age) Eras. The Mesolithic and Neolithic Eras lasted from about 10,000 BCE to 3,000 BCE. During these years, humans transitioned from hunter & gatherer societies that were constantly on the move into settled farming communities. This ability to stay in one place led to a flourishing of creativity which dramatically altered the style, quantity and complexity of the art that was created.
